WE are looking forward to the week-end. #downtonoffice #downtoncube #jealousmuch? (at Jackson Spalding Public Relations)
Dear Anthropologie,
I love getting emails from you. I don’t say that about most people, but it’s true. You know me so well that I open every single message you send me. I don’t give most people that much e-spect.
As a marketer, I find this fascinating. What is it about your emails that make me so happy? I know you’re witty with your puns, creative with your animated gifs and progressive with your support of local artists, but today I figured you out.
And all it took was the email subject, “Meet you new boyfriend.”
I would love to see the open rates on this one.
For a split second, you fooled me and thousands of other women into thinking a few of these thoughts in the .0000001 seconds before we opened it. Is Anthro getting a male spokesperson a la Brad Pitt’s Chanel endorsement? Did the men of “Magic Mike” somehow land a photo shoot with you? Is there going to be an Anthro date auction? Is Anthro teaming up with Billy Reid to start a matchmaking service? (not a bad idea, actually)
No, it’s just a picture of some new boyfriend jeans I can buy from you.
A slight let down, I admit. Genius on your part, kind of sad on mine.
I look forward to receiving an email from you titled, “Would you like to meet Kate Middleton?” that’s just an ad for her autobiography.
Forever yours,
Katherine
I am so blessed to have 2 grandmothers still in my life. Had the honor of sitting in between them at dinner on Sat night in Birmingham at my sister’s graduation. Addie and Baba, you rock! #latergram #familygram (Taken with instagram)
And this one was just too good not to share. (matching dresses, @cstrate’s bowl cut, my mullet and awkward smile, mom’s bangs, and is that a bench she’s sitting on? No, that’s a folding chair we brought out for the garden pose.) #nofilter #happymothersday (Taken with instagram)
I’m as mild and as meek as a mouse
When I hear a command I obey.
But I know of a spot in my house
where no one can stand in my way.
In my own little corner in my own little chair
I can be whatever I want to be.
On the wings of my fancy I can fly anywhere
and the world will open its arms to me.
I’m a young Norwegian princess or a milkmaid
I’m the greatest prima donna in Milan
I’m an heiress who has always had her silk made
By her own flock of silkworms in Japan
I’m a girl men go mad for love’s a game I can play with
cool and confident kind of air.
Just as long as I stay in my own little corner
All alone in my own little chair.
I can be whatever I want to be.
I’m a slave from Calcutta I’m a queen in Peru.
I’m a mermaid dancing upon the sea
I’m a huntress on an African safari.. it’s a dangerous type of sport and yet it’s fun
In the night I sally forth to seek my quarry
And I find I forgot to bring my gun.
I am lost in the jungle all alone and unarmed when I meet a lioness in her lair
Then I’m glad to be back in my own little corner,
All alone in my own little chair.
Still have a long way to go on this needlepoint canvas, but I’ve enjoyed having a free Saturday to work on it. There’s no way you can do this quickly. It’s a great lesson in patience…something I need more of. :) (Taken with instagram)
